## Description

ABOUT THE ROLE

Join an early-stage AI company building software for insurance claims operations. As the first product designer, you will shape the user experience for claims teams and help evolve a complex product into an enterprise-ready platform.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

 - Own the end-to-end experience across daily claims workspaces, dashboards, and other customer-facing product surfaces.

 - Use behavioral data, heat maps, discovery calls, and direct user observation to identify opportunities and guide product improvements.

 - Partner with product leadership, forward-deployed engineers, and the engineering team to turn customer problems into clear workflows and implementation-ready designs.

 - Design interactions for AI agents that make their actions, sources, reasoning, and uncertainty understandable, while giving users ways to review or intervene.

 - Lead product experiences from discovery through delivery as the platform develops for larger insurance organizations.

 - Establish design principles and a design system, prototype with AI tools, and evaluate whether design changes help users complete work more easily.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

 - 5 to 8 years of product design experience, with consistent tenures at technology companies.

 - Experience as a founding designer or the first design hire at an early-stage startup.

 - A UX-first, data-informed approach to simplifying complex workflows, combining product analytics with user research.

 - Experience designing dense, technical software used frequently by operational teams; insurance, claims, healthcare, or other reg
