## Description

ABOUT THE ROLE

Join a public safety technology team building and operating the cloud infrastructure and data platform behind large-scale search systems. You will own reliable distributed systems end to end, from architecture and implementation through deployment and on-call operations.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

 - Design and operate data infrastructure for petabyte-scale ingestion into object storage and indexing in databases and vector stores.

 - Shape storage and retrieval architecture, balancing hot and cold storage, distributed databases, and high-throughput messaging and streaming systems.

 - Run and scale containerized services across orchestration platforms using declarative configuration and GitOps workflows.

 - Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code, and tools that support safe, frequent software delivery.

 - Help maintain secure, auditable, reliable environments that meet federal or other regulated requirements.

 - Debug and tune systems across application code, storage, and networking, and mentor engineers through reviews, pairing, and technical guidance.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

 - 5 or more years of professional software engineering experience, with a track record building and maintaining production systems.

 - Hands-on experience with AWS production workloads, distributed systems, and large-scale data storage and retrieval.

 - Experience building production data pipelines and owning services through deployment and on-call operations.

 - A DevOps foundation that includes CI/CD, infrastructure as code, observability, and automated deploymen
