Privacy policy

Browsing the public job board needs no account, and we don’t record who looks at which roles. When you create an account, we store:

• Your email address and a hashed password, or your Google account ID, name and picture if you sign in with Google.
• Your profile: headline, target roles, locations, workplace and salary preferences, and companies you want to exclude.
• Files you upload, such as your resume and other documents, along with the text we extract from them.
• Your portfolio link and the sources you add, and the pages the assistant reads from them.
• Your searches, saved jobs, application drafts and tailored resumes, and each run’s conversation with the assistant.
• Your credit balance and purchase history, and your time zone, which your browser reports so digests arrive in the morning.

If you subscribe to the newsletter without an account, we store only your email address.

We use your information to run the service: to search for roles that fit you, to write drafts and resumes, to check drafts against your own material, to send the emails you’ve asked for, and to keep your account secure.

We don’t sell your information, show you ads, or use your documents to train AI models.

The assistant runs on Cloudflare Workers AI. When you start a search or a draft, your profile, resume text, chosen documents and sources are sent to the model for that run. Cloudflare doesn’t use this data to train models. The assistant can make mistakes, so read drafts before you send them.

We use a small number of providers, each only for the part of the service it handles:

• Cloudflare hosts the site and stores your account data, files and runs, and runs the AI models.
• Amazon Web Services sends our email through Amazon SES.
• Stripe handles payments. Your card details go to Stripe and never reach our servers.
• Google handles sign-in if you choose it.
• Google Analytics tells us which pages are used and how people move through the site. It sees page addresses, rough location, device type and the events described below, never your resume, documents or applications.

Job listings come from public job boards and company career pages. We don’t send your information to employers. Applications go out only when you send them yourself.

We set a session cookie to keep you signed in for up to 30 days, and a cookie that remembers whether the dashboard sidebar is open. Your browser also keeps a note of whether you’ve dismissed or joined the newsletter, and of your analytics choice. We use Google Analytics cookies to count visits and see how the site is used, such as searches, sign-ups, runs started and purchases, tied to a random account ID rather than your name or email. In the EU, EEA, UK and Switzerland these cookies are only set if you allow them, and you can change your choice any time with Cookie settings at the bottom of any page. We don’t use advertising cookies.

Verified accounts get a daily digest of new matching roles, which you can turn off from your profile or with the link in any digest. Newsletter subscribers get one email a week, and every edition has a one-click unsubscribe link. We also send account emails such as sign-up codes and payment receipts.

We keep your data while your account is open. You can delete documents, sources, saved jobs and drafts from the dashboard at any time. To delete your whole account, email hello@deviantjobs.com from the address on the account, and we’ll remove your account, files and history within 30 days.

You can also ask us for a copy of your data or to correct it. We may keep payment records for as long as tax law requires.

Passwords are hashed, and session tokens and sign-up codes are stored only as hashes. All traffic is encrypted over HTTPS. No system is perfectly secure, and we’ll tell affected users promptly if a breach exposes their data.
