ABOUT THE ROLE
Lead and scale multiple product engineering teams at a mission-driven K-12 education technology company. Reporting to the CTO, you will guide product delivery and technical direction as the platform grows to support schools, teachers, and students.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Lead multiple product squads focused on scheduling, reporting and visibility, and elementary school experiences.
- Start with a hands-on balance of coding, code reviews, and pairing, then shift toward a greater focus on leadership as the organization grows.
- Make architecture decisions that support a robust, scalable platform and guide teams through technical change.
- Partner with product and other cross-functional teams to set goals and connect engineering priorities to business outcomes.
- Deliver high-value product features, including AI-powered capabilities.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- At least 3 years of engineering management experience, including experience leading multiple teams and managing other managers.
- Experience scaling engineering teams and owning products, business goals, and outcomes such as quality, growth, retention, or delivery speed.
- Strong backend architecture and design skills, including the ability to weigh technical trade-offs while remaining comfortable writing and reviewing code.
- Experience with TypeScript or Python, AWS, and MongoDB; familiarity with React is useful.
- Background in K-12 education technology or related learning and teaching fields, with a commitment to education-focused work.
