ABOUT THE ROLE
Join a small engineering team building backend infrastructure for a healthcare technology platform supporting radiology workflows and AI-assisted diagnosis. You will own foundational systems across data ingestion, storage, and distributed model inference.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Design, build, and operate backend infrastructure for data ingestion, warehousing, and distributed model inference on AWS.
- Own reliability, observability, debugging, and capacity planning across the stack.
- Build CI/CD and deployment automation to help the team ship safely and efficiently.
- Design systems that handle protected health information with encryption, access controls, and audit logging.
- Work with the machine learning team on infrastructure and model inference pipelines as priorities require.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- At least 5 years of experience in backend engineering, data infrastructure, or distributed systems.
- Production experience building and operating large-scale distributed systems on AWS or a comparable cloud platform.
- Proficiency in Python, Go, or Java, with strong hands-on backend engineering skills.
- Experience with data pipelines, ETL, warehouses or data lakes, schema evolution, and deployment automation.
- Track record leading multi-quarter technical initiatives across systems or teams, along with experience on a small, fast-moving team.
- Ability to troubleshoot complex distributed systems and weigh performance, cost, security, and maintainability tradeoffs.
- Exposure to machine learning infrastructure or model inference pipe
